Florida Palmetto
A Florida palmetto is native to Central and Southeastern Florida. It is the most widely distributed of all Florida native palm trees. Florida Palmetto occurs near the Gulf coast and Atlantic coast. It has high cold tolerance, high drought tolerance, high flooding tolerance and moderate salt tolerance. The palm is resistant to fire, high winds and coastal conditions.Florida Palmetto requires full sun to partial shade. Florida palmetto has rounded, coatapalmate, fan-shaped leaves. They are recurved and arched backwards.
